Japanese value retailer Daiso Japan is continuing its Australian expansion with the opening of a new dual-concept store alongside sister brand Standard Products at Westfield Chatswood.

Set to open on July 4, the new location strengthens the group's presence in New South Wales and adds another site to its growing portfolio of combined-format stores across Australia.

The concept brings together Daiso's value-oriented merchandise offering, spanning categories including homewares, beauty, stationery and food, with Standard Products' more premium, design-focused range of everyday household and lifestyle products.

The Chatswood opening follows the launch of the group's first Sydney dual-brand store at Westfield Parramatta in 2024. Since then, the format has expanded to additional locations including Melbourne Midtown and Westfield Belconnen in Canberra.

“Chatswood's appreciation for Japanese culture and lifestyle made it a natural home for this concept,” a spokesperson for Daiso and Standard Products said.

“We can't wait to welcome the community in.”

The new store will occupy approximately 800 square metres within Westfield Chatswood, with Daiso accounting for about two-thirds of the footprint. The retailer said the location will offer customers access to both brands in a single destination.
