The new store, located in the airport's international airside precinct, takes Läderach's global network to more than 260 company-owned chocolateries across 30 countries. The company also plans to open new locations in Slovakia and Italy in the coming months.
"We are delighted to be able to bring our fresh chocolate to customers 'Down Under' for the first time while continuing to pursue the growth strategy we have followed in recent years," said Nathanael Hausmann, chief sales officer at Läderach
"Australia offers great potential, and we are already planning further locations for the coming years."
Founded in 1962, Läderach manufactures its chocolate exclusively in the Swiss canton of Glarus and oversees the entire production process from cocoa bean to finished product.
The company, now led by the third generation of the Läderach family, employs more than 2,500 people across over 80 countries and specialises in handcrafted fresh chocolate sold through its own retail network.
"The current financial year has been marked by various challenges, including logistical restrictions in certain regions as well as volatile trading conditions," said Johannes Läderach, the company's CEO.
"Nevertheless, our business is developing according to plan and consistently driving our expansion forward."
Läderach said it is opening around one new chocolaterie each week and expects to surpass 300 locations worldwide by the end of 2026.
The company said expanded production capacity at its Bilten 2 facility, which commenced operations in August 2025, will support its continued global growth.
